Gangs and violence is an interesting theme because it shows other people what life is like in those neighborhoods. Here in areas where we live, we have neighborhoods with gang activity. It makes me feel sorrow because these people have to join a gang for protection. They also have to sell drugs because they can’t live off getting paid minimum wage. Sometimes they are also forced to do things that will get them into deep trouble. But the movie doesn’t really make sense because the gangs are based on race but in reality they accept anyone.
I think it depends on the persons situation financially. For example, money can buy a homeless persons happiness because he/she is living in the streets and finds their meal in a trash can. But money can’t buy a millionaires happiness because they don’t need money, they have everything they want.
My role model is LeBron James. The reason he is my role model is because he became very successful after being raised by a single mother who had little money. From a very young age LeBron had a lot of of pressure to be great and he lived up to his expectations. From his time in high school he’s never gotten into trouble, whether it be with the law or in the NBA. He married his high school sweetheart, Savannah James and they started a family together. He’s always been faithful to her and they’re kids. A role model should be a great parent, loving husband/wife, and should stay out of trouble. I’m not a role model to anyone and I think I should never be a role model for the things I do and say.
I would rather be smart and ugly than dumb and beautiful. One reason is because being intelligent can make me very successful in life and looks can’t. I would never do this but many wealthy people get surgery to look prettier, such as Kylie Jenner. Also I really don’t care what people think about the way I look. I’m just worried about my future. But I won’t have to choose between being beautiful and dumb than ugly and smart because I’m already beautiful and smart.
A character/celebrity I would love to meet from any book, movie, TV show is Gordon Ramsay. I would like to see him get angry at the restaurant workers on Kitchen Nightmares. Also I would like to taste how bad the food actually is. Since he is a chef, he would make me all kind of dishes from different cultures. He also seems like a chill guy from what I saw on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
I think the movie is very interesting because it shows a girl waking up every morning living the exact same day. The movie has a huge significance because the girl realized the mistakes she did throughout the day and fixed them. I know several people who drive drunk and/or high. I’ve never been in a car with someone drunk or high but I do know people who have been involved in a car accident. I don’t think we can do anything to stop these accidents because there a lot of drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Many teens are beginning to get their drivers license and will probably drive in those conditions.
Dear Ms. Passariello,
There are many things I wish you knew about me. First, I hate doing these blogs everyday. Second, I was born on Sunday, November 23rd, 2003. Third, I like hip-hop music but, I prefer old school hip-hop, Tupac, NWA, etc. Fourth, I like playing video games and I’m looking forward to GTA VI. Lastly, I think we should watch historical movies because most of us in the class don’t know much about US history. These are among the many things that I wish you knew about me.
Sincerely, David
I would rather be respected than loved because respect is one of two things I look in a person along with loyalty. People have to earn my respect and I also have to earn theirs. Love is a feeling you get towards someone. If someone respects me, they’re showing that they admire me. Many soldiers or veterans are respected for fighting for our freedom but they aren’t loved because most of us don’t know them personally to catch feelings for them.
If I were in that class I probably would not have done the extra credit work because I wouldn’t have felt like doing it. But if I did do the assignment I would have recycled and I would give the money to a homeless person or donate it to some kind of charity.
I think some 13 year olds would do these kind of things because they want to be around the “cool kids”. Some parents nowadays aren’t so strict with there children, therefore we see 13 year old or even younger begin to get involved with gangs and drugs. Most of these kids will drop out of High School and wont be successful in life.
